Site remediation update, road & civil works, Sales and Display Suite Grand Opening

Site remediation update

Thank you again for your ongoing patience and understanding as we continue work on The Parks.

We are pleased to advise residents that we have now completed the first stage of contamination remediation works including the removal of topsoil and emu-pick of asbestos fragments.

Approximately one quarter of the total site remediation has now been completed.

The majority of remediation work completed to date has focused on the eastern section of the site which we expect to complete throughout November.

We also anticipate commencing remediation works on the western section of the site during this period as well as commencing stormwater and hydraulics work to the eastern section of the site.

We have implemented additional dust management measures including spraying a green polymer coating to areas of the site where there are no works being performed and water spraying work areas to suppress dust. The polymer is also being applied to stockpiles on the site, where those stockpiles will be onsite for an extended period.

Contractors are also being reminded of the requirement to park within the site to minimise disruption to the surrounding community.

Upcoming road and civil works

Subject to approval we will commence implementing the Temporary Traffic Management plan (refer February update) in November on Monaro Crescent adjacent to the site.

We will issue a separate notification once this approval is received providing further detail about the works to be undertaken and the anticipated duration.

These works form part of the broader road and footpath upgrades associated with the project that will deliver long-term benefits to the community. We anticipate this work will require:

  • the closure of the verge and footpath along Monaro Crescent between Discovery St and Cygnet Crescent and the installation of temporary footpaths along Cygnet Crescent and the eastern side of Monaro Crescent; and

  • the partial road closure of Discovery Street.

We will provide a separate update with plans once Temporary Traffic Management Plan is approved.
